    – Paso Robles broke a 74-year-old heat record on Monday, reaching 86 degrees and surpassing the previous record of 85 degrees set in 1951.

According to the National Weather Service, Paso Robles was one of three locations in the Central Coast and Southern California to break daily records. Woodland Hills hit 95 degrees, and Palmdale reached 84 degrees.

The Weather Service attributed the heat to unseasonably warm weather but said temperatures are expected to return to normal levels. Paso Robles is forecast to reach 88 degrees on Tuesday before cooling to 64 degrees on Friday. San Luis Obispo will see temperatures from a high of 78 degrees on Tuesday to 65 degrees on Friday. Coastal temperatures will range from the low 60s to the high 50s.
