Michael Rivera invites community to attend

Paso Robles City Council District 3 candidate Michael Rivera will host a campaign kickoff on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. at the downtown city park gazebo. Attendees can speak with Rivera about his candidacy and topics of interest.

“I will fight for a small ‘g’ government, personal freedom, and keeping taxes low. I want to work for you to ensure your needs are always at the top of our city’s priorities and never against the voter’s interests. I will work hard for you toward a bright future for our city,” according to Rivera’s campaign.

Some of the topics Rivera is focused on include supporting public safety agencies, education and housing opportunities, proactive solutions for the unhoused community, and improving infrastructure.

“I have both a wide understanding of issues facing our city and the experience to work with others to find solutions,” Rivera said.

Rivera has lived on the Central Coast for 50 years. He has previously served on the Santa Maria Parks and Recreation Commission as chairman and member and on the Santa Barbara County Private Industry Council as chairman, chief financial officer and member.

He has served on various committees for the Paso Robles Unified School District, including the 7/11 Committee, Facility Naming Committee, and Measure M Committee. He lobbied the Paso Robles City Council to implement E-Verify when hiring.

The election will be held on Nov. 5, where three out of four districts will have seats open for election.
