Paso Robles Cycling Festival returns Memorial Day Weekend
–Held each Memorial Day Weekend for the past 55 years, The Paso Robles Cycling Festival, formerly known as the Great Western Bicycle Rally, is a one-of-a-kind cycling event for riders of all ages and ability levels. The festival returns to Paso Robles May 24-27.
This family-friendly event even has fun events for those that do not cycle, to ensure that the entire clan can come and have a good time for a reasonable price.
25 scenic rides: leave when you want, take your time, stop to enjoy the local flavors. This is about doing what you want, when you want. Registered Festival Participants will have access to full route details and GPS files.
Leave together with some supported with rest stops. Other group rides have a ride leader and a cool destination or a fun stopping point.
Kids bike ‘roadeo’, drift trike racing, Huffy toss, family rides, face painting, s’mores station and more. There’s fun for family members of all ages.
Food, drink, social
Wood fired pizza, beer tasting, wine tasting, pasta dinner, music, lounge area, community BBQ. There’s fun to be had off the bike too!
Take part in our time trial, drift trike races, Huffy toss, poker ride and hill climb competition and you could take home a trophy.
The grand prize draw takes place on Sunday. All adult participants get a free raffle ticket.
Camping and lodging
Camping, at a reasonable price, available at the event with a shower truck and brick and mortar bathrooms, or have an RV delivered or choose one of our partner hotels.
New for 2019:
• Do you enjoy yoga? Saturday morning, join Sarah Hawkins for an awakening yoga experience at the festival.
• Are you looking to ride with your partner, while qualified professionals look after your kids? On Sunday, leave the kids with Race Rugrats at the Fairgrounds, while you head out for a ride.
“We are proud to continue the 55 years tradition of The Paso Robles Cycling Festival (a.k.a The Great Western Bicycle Rally),” stated Robert and Josephine Panzera, Event Director. “We have kept many of the traditions of the original Rally, while adding new and exciting group activities to develop the event into the Festival it is today. We welcome cyclists of all types, and their non-riding partners and friends, for a fun-filled weekend in the wine country of Paso Robles.”
Expected attendance for The Festival is 1000 people over 4 days. Prices are kept reasonable for a family of four to enjoy all the offerings of the Festival over the weekend.
