Dr. Susan Robinson to be honored for local service in health care and inclusion

    – The Paso Robles Democratic Club will present its second annual Steve Martin Community Service Award to Dr. Susan Robinson for her work in women’s health care and end-of-life care, and for organizing, with her husband, Lonely Liberals, a recurring Paso Robles social gathering.

The ceremony for the nonpartisan award is planned for Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Paso Robles Democratic Club Holiday Celebration at the Quail Run Community Center in Paso Robles. Tickets are available at pasoroblesdemocrats.org. Jennifer Martin, widow of former Mayor Steve Martin, will join in presenting the award.

The award honors former Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin, who brought people of differing perspectives together to work for the community. Ten nominees were considered this year. Organizers said the nominees’ work addressed health care, housing, food security, education, city government and social inclusion, and they hope those not selected will be nominated again.

As the award winner, Robinson will receive a crystal award and a $500 prize.
