Be sure to follow these simple tips as we go into winter:Paso Robles heater repair

Tip #1 USE NATURAL LIGHT—During the day, open the curtains on south-facing windows to allow sunlight to naturally heat home, and close them at night to reduce the chill that may be felt from cold windows.

Tip #2 AVOID THE DRAFT!—Be sure to cover drafty windows by using a heavy-duty, clear plastic sheet on a frame or tape clear plastic film to the inside of window frames during the cold winter months. Make sure the plastic is sealed tightly to the frame to help reduce infiltration.

Tip #3 INSULATE—Install tight-fitting, insulating drapes or shades on windows that feel drafty after weatherizing.

Tip #4 REGULATE YOUR THERMOSTAT—Adjust the temperature on the thermostat as low as is comfortable. When occupants are asleep or out of the house, turn your thermostat back 10° to 15° for eight hours and save around 10-percent a year on your heating and cooling bills. A programmable thermostat can make it easy to set back the temperature.

Tip #5 JOIN THE SEAL TEAM—Find and seal links around utility cut-throughs for pipes (“plumbing penetrations”), gaps around chimneys and recessed lights in insulated ceilings, and unfinished spaces behind cupboards and closets. Add caulk or weather stripping to seal air leaks around leaky doors and windows.

SCHEDULE A SERVICE CALL Maintain a heating system by scheduling a service call. Maintenance is required to keep the heating system operating efficiently. With respect to furnaces, we recommend replacing the furnace filter once a month or as needed.
