Paso Robles High School appoints new athletic director
Paul Otto brings 20 years of athletics experience
– Paso Robles High School has announced the appointment of Paul Otto as the school’s new athletic director.
Otto joins the school with 20 years of experience in athletics, including roles as a head coach and an athletic director. He has been recognized for leadership by the Missouri State High School Activities Association. According to the announcement, his approach focuses on character-driven administration and student development.
Otto said his daily mission is to promote each student’s academic and athletic strengths and align decisions with the school’s mission and vision. The announcement states he aims to support student- and team-driven traditions that are respectful and inclusive of students, staff, officials, and visiting schools, while prioritizing safety.
Principal Mike Susank said, “We are thrilled to welcome our new Athletic Director, whose leadership will elevate our programs and reinforce the powerful role athletics play in building school pride, character, and a strong sense of community.”
“Athletics should be a point of pride for our entire community,” Otto said. “I look forward to collaborating with our staff and families to build a competitive, professional, and positive culture for our student-athletes.”
Otto will begin the role July 1.
Paso Robles Joint Unified School District serves more than 6,400 students across northern San Luis Obispo County. The district states it is guided by values that include integrity, accountability, collaboration, innovation, compassion, and belonging, and aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for students.
