    Paso Robles High School Forte choir to showcase talent at Carnegie Hall concert 

    – The Paso Robles High School choir, Forte, will perform at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage on April 6 at 1 p.m. as part of an afternoon of choral music presented by MidAmerica Productions.

    The performance will feature Forte under the direction of Gaylene Ewing alongside the New England Symphonic Ensemble, directed by Preston Hawes. The program includes Handel’s “Zadok the Priest” and “The King Shall Rejoice,” conducted by Scott D. Glysson, director of choral activities and vocal studies at Cal Poly. Additional selections include Vivaldi’s “Magnificat” and Bach’s “Sanctus in C major,” conducted by Bradley Miller.

    “We are thrilled to showcase the exceptional talent of Forte from Paso Robles High School on one of the world’s most prestigious stages,” said James E. Redcay III, chief executive officer of MidAmerica Productions. “The invitation extended to this ensemble is a testament to the outstanding musicianship and dedication of their singers. We are proud to welcome them to perform as part of our 42nd season at Carnegie Hall.”

    Forte will be joined by the Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble from Los Angeles, St. Philip the Apostle Church Choir from Pasadena, First United Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir from Appleton, Wis., the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Choral Arts Ensemble from Collegeville, Minn., and Cal Poly PolyPhonics from San Luis Obispo.

    Participants will spend five days and four nights in New York City, rehearsing for nine to ten hours in preparation for the concert and touring the city.

    The program will also include the world premiere of Loretta K. Notareschi’s “Climate Mass,” conducted by Raul Dominguez, and Elaine Hagenberg’s “Illuminare,” conducted by Andrew Bowers. Performers for these works include the Milton High School Chorus, Regis University Singers, Stargate High School Choir, and the Dominguez Singers. Additionally, Monteverdi’s “Magnificat a sei voci,” conducted by Nicole Baker, will feature the Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble, St. Philip the Apostle Church Choir, and First United Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir.
