Paso Robles High School to host ‘Welcome In’

–Paso Robles High School invites parents and community members to tour the campus at the first “Welcome In to PRHS” event. Join PRHS students and staff on Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 8 to 9 a.m. Everyone in the Bearcat community is invited to tour the facilities, visit classrooms, and see the award-winning programs offered at the high school.

Earlier this year, PRHS was named a California Gold Ribbon School. The award recognizes California schools that have made gains in implementing the academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education. These include the California Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics, California English Language Development Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards. And for the second year in a row, PRHS also received a silver medal and was recognized as one of the “2016 Best High Schools” in the U.S. News & World Report.

Parents are especially encouraged to attend as this will help to further engage them in their child’s high school experience. This also gives parents an opportunity to dialogue with site leadership. “It is our goal to use this time to strengthen the communication and partnerships with our parents in order to continue with our commitment of providing a world-class educational experience for each and every student,” says Principal Eric Martinez.

The Welcome In, however, is not just for parents. Says Jen Gaviola, Director of 9-12 Schools, “This is a great opportunity for the community to visit our high school, see our wonderful college and career offerings, and get a feel for the great school culture.”

If interested in attending, please email the principal’s secretary at calong@pasoschools.org or call the office at (805) 769-1500. For those who would like to attend but cannot at this time, PRHS will be hosting three more Welcome In events during the school year.
