Paso Robles High School students visit assisted living residents before prom
Regular volunteers stopped by before Saturday night’s dance
– Paso Robles High School students stopped by Creston Village Assisted Living and Memory Care before prom Saturday to show residents their formal attire and spend time with them.
According to Julie Tacker, director of engagement at the assisted living and memory care community, several student volunteers visited residents while dressed for prom. The students included Thea, Ani, Emma, Peyton, and Lilly.
Photos from the visit were posted on the community’s Facebook page:
Tacker said the idea came to her spontaneously because several of the students already volunteer regularly at the facility.
“The girls pictured on the FB page are regular volunteers that serve drinks at our weekly happy hour after school, and when they can come over and paint fingernails, curl hair and put make up on the memory care ladies,” Tacker said.
“These are sweet kids that are really rising to the occasion to make friends with our residents,” she said.
Tacker said residents enjoyed seeing the students dressed for prom.
“It was so awesome for residents to see them all dressed up,” she said.
