Paso Robles High School Swim Team competes in Clovis
Submitted by Coach Micheal Sauret
–It was a cold and periodically rainy day at the Clovis North High School Meet, but just as the clouds broke and the sun shone through, many swimmers found bright spots throughout the day. This meet offered a spirited class competition that pitted 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade swimmers against each other. Standouts on the girl’s side were Kendall Moffitt who won the 10th grade girls division while achieving three (3) CIF automatic times in the 200 Free, 100 Fly, and 500 Free. Carlotta Abascal and Tyler Seidel took 6th and 7th respectively in the Sophomore division. Mackenzie Raymond also attained CIF automatic times in the 200 Free 500 Free while taking 2nd place in the Senior division with Senior Emily Christian a close 3rd behind her. The girls in total had 6 CIF automatic qualifying swims and 10 CIF consideration times at our very first meet of the season.
On the boy’s side Ethan Moore and Carson Weide were 5th and 10th in Senior Division; with Joshua Pichard and Tre Eade taking 5th and 9th in the Sophomore Division. There were several personal best times including Trevor Jaureguy’s 29.83 in the 50 Free (1st time under 30) and Ryan Slawson dropped 14 seconds in the 100 Fly for a 1:13.38.
