Paso Robles High School tennis team wins Sunset League championship
Bearcats finished undefeated in league play and reached CIF semifinals
– The Paso Robles High School boys tennis team completed the 2026 season with a 16-6 overall record, an 8-0 record in Sunset League play, a league championship, and a run to the CIF semifinals.
The Bearcats competed under Head Coach Daniel Diaz and assistant coaches Bryan Pesenti and Manny.
Paso Robles also recorded non-league victories over Saint Joseph High School and Santa Ynez High School, both members of the Mountain League.
Several players earned league honors during the season. John Dawson Blaney won the Sunset League singles championship, while Jack French finished fourth in the league singles finals.
In doubles competition, Levi Anderson and Zane Wilson placed second in the league doubles finals. Rigby Moore and Liam Eddy placed third in the league doubles finals.
Blaney, French, Anderson, Wilson, Eddy, and Moore are scheduled to compete this week in the Area Finals Tournament at San Luis Obispo High School.
Blaney also qualified for CIF individual competition scheduled for May 15 in Clovis.
