Paso Robles High School to induct three athletes into Hall of Fame
Induction ceremony planned during Bearcats’ home football game
– Paso Robles High School will induct three former Bearcat student-athletes into its Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime of the home football game against the Buchanan Bears on Friday, Sept. 27, at War Memorial Stadium. The game will kick off at 7 p.m.
The inductees are:
- Chris Monteiro (Class of 1977): A standout in football and wrestling, Monteiro led the Paso Robles High School wrestling team to numerous titles, including the school’s first CIF Championship in 2001. He was inducted into the California Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2024.
- Hosea Jabbar Clark (Class of 1994): A two-year varsity starter in basketball, Clark led the Bearcats to LPAL championships in both the 1992-93 and 1993-94 seasons. He continued his basketball career at Cuesta College and was part of the record-setting Cougar team.
- Nate Anguiano (Class of 2001): A standout athlete in cross country, basketball, and track and field, Anguiano was the 1999 SLO County Cross Country Individual Champion and a four-time CIF-Southern Section qualifier. He competed at the collegiate level at Cal State Northridge.
The 2001 varsity wrestling team will also be honored as part of the ceremony. Under the leadership of Coach Monteiro, this team captured both CIF and league championships.
