Paso Robles Historical Society hosting fundraiser to preserve newspaper collection

–The Paso Robles Historical Society is hosting “An Afternoon in the Country” on Sunday, Sept 9 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to raise funds for preserving the society’s newspaper collection. Some of the newspapers date from early 1800 and include several different newspapers that have been published in Paso Robles over the years. Proceeds will support preserving, digitizing and microfilming thousands of pages of aged newspapers. A portion of the proceeds also supports teaching Paso Robles history to local students.

Tickets are $50 and include wine, gourmet hors-d’oeuvres, music by the Cimo Brothers and live and silent auctions. The event is being held at the Tooth & Nail Winery, 3090 Anderson Road at Highway 46 West. For tickets, download the order form or call the museum at (805) 238-4996.
