Registration required for May 23 event in the Story Hour Room
– The Paso Robles City Library will host an in-person screening and discussion of Casablanca on Friday, May 23, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the library’s Story Hour Room.
The monthly Cinema Club event takes place the fourth Friday of each month and includes a film screening, discussion, and snacks.
Casablanca was directed by Michael Curtiz. The 1942 film, rated PG and running 1 hour and 42 minutes, follows the story of nightclub owner Rick Blaine, played by Humphrey Bogart, as he navigates a reunion with former love Ilsa, played by Ingrid Bergman, in French Morocco during World War II. Ilsa’s husband, Victor Laszlo, portrayed by Paul Henreid, is a well-known rebel evading capture by Nazi forces. The film centers on Rick’s internal conflict between rekindled love and aiding a resistance effort.
The screening is open to adults. Registration is required to attend.
