Paso Robles loses major employer, 64 workers impacted as plant closes

Company moved to Paso Robles in 1982
– After more than 40 years in San Luis Obispo County, Joslyn Sunbank Company LLC is set to close its Paso Robles facility in January, resulting in 64 layoffs, according to multiple reports.
The closure was detailed in a state-required notice filed with the California Employment Development Department, which mandates a 60-day warning before major layoffs or plant closures. The facility, located at 1740 Commerce Way, manufactures components for military, aerospace, and industrial applications.
Founded as Sunbank Electronics in Burbank in the late 1950s, the company moved to Paso Robles in 1982. Over the decades, it became a key employer in the region, at one point employing hundreds locally and more in Mexico. Ownership has changed multiple times, with Eaton Corp. acquiring it most recently.
The company has not disclosed the reason for the closure.
