Paso Robles man arrested after brandishing firearm in road rage incident
– Paso Robles Police arrested a 56-year-old Paso Robles man Thursday, Dec. 11, following a reported road rage incident involving a firearm.
At about 1:10 p.m., the Paso Robles Police Department responded to a call reporting that a male suspect had brandished a handgun at another person near Spring Street and 9th Street. Officers located the suspect’s vehicle near 13th Street and River Road and conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
Officers took the suspect into custody without incident and identified him as Jay Alba, 56, of Paso Robles. Police recovered a firearm without a serial number from the vehicle. No injuries were reported, and police said there is no current risk to the public.
Alba was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of exhibiting a firearm in the presence of motor vehicle occupants (417.3 PC), felon in possession of a firearm (29800(a)(1) PC), carrying a loaded firearm in public without a concealed carry permit (25850(a) PC), felon in possession of ammunition (30305(a)(1) PC), possession of a high-capacity magazine (32310(a) PC), and possession of a firearm without a serial number (29180(c) PC).
