Paso Robles man dies after car rolls down driveway, into pond near Napa

–On April 2, at approximately 3:33 a.m., a 30-year-old Paso Robles man died in a single-vehicle crash just northwest of Napa, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser was on a private roadway at 2253 Dry Creek Road in Napa, heading in an easterly direction, according to an accident report from the CHP. For an unknown reason, the driver left the driveway, drove down an embankment and into an irrigation pond, the report says. The vehicle became fully submerged. One occupant of the vehicle, a 27-year-old man from Napa, was able to escape the vehicle.

The other occupant, identified as Chancellor Goforth, was removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel and transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital where he was declared deceased. The identity of the driver is under investigation, according to the CHP. The crash is under investigation and CHP says alcohol appears to be a factor.
