Paso Robles man dies in collision 

–23-year-old Paso Robles man Juan Carlos Diaz lost his life in a fatal traffic collision that occurred on 101 South last night, according to CHP.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on southbound highway 101 near South Spring Street. Diaz was driving a Chevrolet Cruze in a posted construction zone when he drove his vehicle into the closed lane and collided with the back of an end dump and trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Gaspar Gonzalez Rojas, his 26-year-old passenger, was transported to Sierra Vista with major injuries. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the collision, according to CHP.
