Paso Robles man dies in rockslide in Bakersfield

–A Paso Robles man mining on a hillside in Northeast Bakersfield died Sunday night after a rockslide occurred in the area, according to reports.

The man, who was identified as Doren James Strane, 56, of Paso Robles, was reportedly mining on a hillside near the California Living Museum Zoo.

Bakersfield Police were notified of the incident Sunday evening when a person noticed mining gear in the area and reported it to BPD. The person reportedly told police that he met someone in that area last week and believes that the rockslide may have buried him. It is unclear when the rockslide occurred.
