Paso Robles man involved in fatal accident in Kern County

–On Sunday night at about 9:40 p.m., a fatal traffic accident occurred on Highway 33 in Kern County. A Bakersfield man, driving southbound in a Toyota Camry, drifted into the wrong lane of traffic and into the path of GMC driven by Cole Roberts, 20, of Paso Robles.

Roberts, traveling northbound, was unable to avoid a collision and the two vehicles collided head-on, CHP reports. The Bakersfield man, Sebastian Alberto Martinez, 21, died in the accident.

Robert suffered major injuries and was pinned in his vehicle until he was extricated by Kern County firefighters, CHP reports. Roberts was taken to Kern Medical Center.

A third vehicle hit the wreckage of the Toyota, CHP reports. That driver suffered minor injuries.
