Paso Robles native sets records in swimming championships

Joseph Brown graduated from Paso Robles High School in 2013.

–Class of 2013 Paso Robles High School alumnus and current sophomore at Drexel University, Joseph Brown, had breakout collegiate performances last weekend at the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and  Diving Championships in Christiansburg, VA.

After finishing fifth in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 breaststroke last year as a freshman, Brown swept the breaststroke events by taking home gold in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke. In the 100-yard, Brown set a new Drexel record at 54.99, which bested the previous mark of 55.99 by a full second.  also swam the breaststroke leg on the first place 400 medley relay team for the Drexel Dragons bringing home yet another gold and breaking Drexel’s previous team record by over three seconds with a time of 3:14.37.
