Nonprofit seeking volunteer tutors in North County

    – Literacy for Life, a nonprofit organization, is seeking volunteer tutors in Paso Robles and Atascadero to assist learners aged 16 and older in improving their English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

Volunteers are asked to commit one to three hours a week. A second language is not required, as all tutoring is conducted in English. No teaching background is necessary, as the organization provides free tutor training, textbooks, and ongoing support.

Tutors work one-on-one with learners to set and achieve their individual literacy goals. The next tutor training session will take place on Oct. 23 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Canyon Creek, located at 400 Oak Hill Rd., Paso Robles. The session is intended for new volunteers interested in helping adults learn English as a second language.
