    Paso Robles Pickleball Club hosts third tournament

    Annual Paso Robles Pickleball Tournament held May 14-15

    –In support of International Pickleball Week in Paso Robles as declared by Mayor Steve Martin, the Paso Robles Pickleball Club, in cooperation with the City of Paso Robles Recreation Services, hosted the third annual Paso Robles Pickleball Tournament on May 14-15, 2016 at Centennial Park in Paso Robles.

    During the two-day event, 135 players were awarded over 100 gold, silver and bronze medals in men’s, women’s and mixed doubles categories. The Mixed Doubles 3.0 gold medal winners were Judi Wright and Darryl McMahon, silver winners Tom Newby and Darlene Gibaut and bronze winners Steve McAbee and Susan McAbee.

    Up to 75 per-cent of participants were visiting from outside Paso Robles, some from as far away as Hawaii, Arizona, Utah, Oregon and throughout Central and Southern California.

    The event was conducted in accordance with USA Pickleball Association (USAPA) rules and regulations. Forty-four players and their guests attended the first ever winery dinner hosted by Calcareous Winery in conjunction with the two-day event.
