Police said that shortly before 2 a.m. on Sept. 1, officers were notified that a patient at a local hospital was being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. Investigators determined the shooting had occurred around midnight in the 700 block of 34th Street.
At the scene, police found a 9mm casing and began pursuing leads. Detectives later identified the suspected shooter as Noe Tapia-Sandoval, 27, of Paso Robles. An arrest warrant was obtained for Tapia-Sandoval on a charge of attempted murder.
