Paso Robles police help corral wayward herd of animals
–Paso Robles Police helped to herd a group of 30 sheep and alpaca in the early morning hours Tuesday. They posted about the unusual call on their Facebook page, comically detailing the event:
Ewe wouldn’t believe our night…
Early this morning PRPD Dispatch received a call of 30 sheep near Buena Vista and Dallons. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the group. The leaders of the flock were two wooly giraffe deer who came looking for a fight. The big one was ready to rumble as he stomped his feet, snorted, and spit. One of our officers pulled out his phone in hopes of seeing his sergeant hilariously trampled by the wooly giraffe things. The sergeant gave a peace offering consisting of some suspect grasses, but these bullies weren’t having it. They meant business and their odd velociraptor toenail daggers showed it. After over an hour of negotiation, corralling….at times running, the owner arrived with a flake of hay and they were taken back to their pen.
