Paso Robles recreation services seeks volunteers for after-school programs
Programs have been hugely successful since beginning in August of 2023
– Paso Robles Recreation Services is seeking volunteers to assist with after-school programs at Centennial Park, located at 600 Nickerson Drive. The programs include the Teen Center, Open Gym, and Kids Corner, which operate Monday through Thursday after school until 5 p.m.
The Teen Center is open to students in grades six through 12 and features a small snack bar, video games, a pool table, and space for homework and socializing. Open Gym offers school recess-style games and is available to all ages. The Kids’ Corner is designed for younger children and includes books, toys, and craft projects. The three programs serve an average of 80 participants per day.
Volunteers are needed to help with activity setup, interact with participants, assist with games and special events, and support cleanup efforts. Volunteers will work alongside city staff.
“We are thrilled to offer these free, accessible after-school programs for young people in Paso Robles,” said Recreation Manager Lynda Plescia. “The programs have been hugely successful since beginning in August of 2023, and we’re ready to continue to grow with the support of interested community members.”
