– Nathan Williams has announced his bid for re-election to the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District (PRJUSD) Board of Trustees. Williams, the current president of the board, has a long history of community service as a firefighter and volunteer.
During his tenure, Williams has overseen significant changes in the district, including the hiring of a new superintendent, securing a permanent location for the Georgia Brown Dual Immersion program, fulfilling a long-standing promise to build a pool at Paso Robles High School, and approving contracts with teachers and staff. Williams is known for his problem-solving approach and his commitment to collaboration.
The son of former Paso Robles High School teacher Gregg Williams, he has a deep understanding of the importance of education. After 24 years as a firefighter, Williams will medically retire due to the physical demands of the job. He and his wife, along with their four children—three of whom attend PRJUSD schools—have deep ties to the community.
Williams has been actively involved in local schools, serving as a coach, volunteer, and leader in various roles. He has served as PTO President at Flamson, President of the Bearcat Boosters, and a volunteer athletic director at Butler Elementary. His involvement extends beyond the school district, having coached and volunteered with local youth sports, the Paso Robles Youth Arts Center, and organizations like the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation and Muscular Dystrophy Association.
In addition to his hands-on involvement, Williams has completed the California School Board Association’s Masters in Governance program. His focus remains on increasing accountability, promoting transparency, and improving communication within the district.
“People ask me why I want to serve on the school board and it’s simple,” Williams said. “I am focused on doing what’s best for our students, our families, and our staff. I’m here to serve them.”
