Paso Robles seeks applicants for city boards, commissions
Applications due April 30, interviews planned for May
– The Paso Robles Community Services Department is accepting applications for several open positions on city boards and advisory bodies.
Available positions include seats on the Library Board of Trustees, the Youth Commission, the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee, and the Arts and Culture Board. The Paso Robles City Council established these groups to gather public input. Members serve two- to three-year terms beginning July 1.
Applications are due April 30 by 5 p.m. The city has tentatively scheduled interviews for May 13 or May 14. Click here to access applications.
“The City’s Boards and Advisory Bodies provide Paso Robles residents with a meaningful way to contribute to their community and help shape its future,” said Angelica Fortin, Director of Community Services for the City of Paso Robles. “We encourage community members who are passionate about making a difference to apply and get involved in these important committees.”
The Arts and Culture Board, new this year, advises on visual art in public places within city-owned or city-controlled leased areas. The board will determine art placement locations, review submissions, and select qualifying artworks for installation. The five-member board will meet quarterly and as needed based on project timelines. The positions include one partial term of one year, two partial terms of two years, and two full terms of three years.
The Library Board of Trustees advises on matters related to the library, assists in developing policies, makes recommendations on programs and services, and provides feedback on community needs. The board meets in person on the second Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. The board has two full-term positions of three years and one partial-term position of one year available.
The Youth Commission is a youth-led organization that works with local government to provide opportunities and representation for youth in Paso Robles. The commission meets in person on the first Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. Applicants must be between 14 and 21 years old. The commission has six open positions, including five full two-year terms and one partial one-year term.
The Senior Citizen Advisory Committee makes recommendations on issues affecting senior citizens. The committee meets in person on the second Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m. The committee has one open position for a full three-year term.
