Paso Robles seeks input on North River Road trail
Proposed trail would improve walking and biking connectivity
– The City of Paso Robles is inviting residents, commuters, students, and trail users to participate in two community outreach events focused on the proposed North River Road Multiuse Trail project.
City officials said the proposed Class I multiuse trail would improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity for people walking, biking, and rolling along the North River Road corridor.
Officials said feedback collected during the outreach events will help guide future trail design and support grant funding efforts connected to the project.
The North River Road segment is also part of the city’s long-term “Grand Loop” vision, a planned network of trails, sidewalks, bicycle facilities, and recreational corridors intended to improve active transportation routes throughout Paso Robles.
City officials said completing the segment would close a gap in the planned loop system and improve connections between neighborhoods, schools, parks, and other destinations.
The first outreach event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. outside City Hall near the Downtown Farmers’ Market.
Attendees will be able to share experiences walking and biking along North River Road, provide feedback on trail features and design elements, learn about proposed safety and accessibility improvements, and participate in interactive activities. Free safety items will also be distributed.
The second outreach event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cuesta College North County Campus Library in Paso Robles.
City officials said the event will take place during the college’s “Studyathon” activities as students prepare for finals week. Members of the public may attend, though officials encouraged attendees to obtain parking permits or use designated visitor parking areas. Officials also encouraged walking or biking to campus.
Residents unable to attend either event may complete the project survey online at North River Road Multiuse Trail survey.
City officials said the North River Road Multiuse Trail project is currently in the design phase and is intended to improve multimodal transportation access, connectivity, and safety along the corridor.
Officials also noted that May is Bike Month and encouraged residents to review bicycle-related programming through SLO Rideshare Bike Month events.
