–This past weekend, Paso Robles High School (PRHS) sent 72 students to compete in the SkillsUSA Annual California State Leadership & Skills Conference in Ontario. Over 2500 students from throughout the state competed in 80 different contests. PRHS students came home with 21 medals, including nine gold.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce by providing educational programs, events, and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in schools. PRHS has one of the largest CTE programs in the state. Courses offered at PRHS include Culinary Arts, Automotive Industry, Building Trades, Informational Technology, Digital Media, Early Childhood Education, Law Enforcement, Welding, and Leadership. The CTE courses help students develop a skill set to prepare them to enter the workforce.

Students earned an opportunity to compete at the state level by winning medals at the Region 2 contest held at PRHS this past February.
