Paso Robles to review cannabis delivery offices at study session

Council to review permit requirements and delivery office limits

    – The Paso Robles City Council will hold a cannabis delivery study session during its regular meeting on May 19 at 6 p.m. in the Norris Room at Centennial Park.

The study session will focus on possible changes related to adult-use cannabis delivery offices in Paso Robles.

On Feb. 10, the Paso Robles Planning Commission adopted Resolution PC 26-005 recommending the City Council adopt an ordinance amending Chapter 21.60 of the Paso Robles Zoning Ordinance to allow adult-use cannabis non-storefront retailers, described as recreational cannabis delivery offices.

City staff is seeking direction from the council on four topics, including the status of Council Resolution 22-144, which identifies businesses allowed to operate recreational cannabis delivery offices, the number of delivery offices that should be allowed in the city, establishing a new Cannabis Regulatory Permit in addition to the required conditional use permit, and whether existing conditional use permit holders for medical cannabis delivery offices should be required to amend their permits to also deliver adult-use cannabis.

City officials stated the study session will not include discussion about allowing cannabis storefronts, or dispensaries, in Paso Robles.

Interested parties may livestream the meeting at www.prcity.com/youtube and provide public comment by phone at (805) 865-7276. The phone line will open just prior to the start of the meeting and remain open throughout the meeting.

Written public comments may be submitted prior to noon on the day of the meeting to cityclerk@prcity.com to be posted as an addendum to the agenda. If submitting comments in advance, participants are asked to note the agenda item by number or name.

The agenda is available at www.prcity.com/meetings.

Any writing or document distributed to a majority of the council after the posting of the agenda will be available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office at 1000 Spring St. during normal business hours and may also be posted online.

Individuals needing accommodations under the Americans With Disabilities Act may request assistance through the City Clerk’s Office. Requests should be made four working days in advance whenever possible.
