Tourism impact study highlights economic contributions
Report examines the economic, fiscal, and social impacts of tourism in Paso Robles
– A recent Tourism Impact Study was conducted to support the Paso Robles City Council’s goals for Fiscal Years 2024-2026. Beacon Economics, an independent research and consulting firm specializing in economic analysis, carried out the study. The report examines the economic, fiscal, and social impacts of tourism in Paso Robles.
Key findings from the study include that visitors contribute nearly half a billion dollars directly to the local economy, with 20% of all local jobs supported by tourism. Additionally, tax revenue generated by visitors accounts for nearly 40% of the city’s general fund.
The study also revealed the significant role of tourism in maintaining city services and infrastructure. Without the revenue generated by tourism, each Paso Robles household would need to contribute an additional $1,800 annually in taxes to sustain the current level of services, according to the city.
