Paso Robles wineries help raise funds for local homeless shelter
Event raises more than $40,000
– The El Camino Homeless Organization hosted its second Vines That ECHO Winemakers Dinner on Friday, June 6, raising more than $40,000 to support services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in San Luis Obispo County.
Held at Copia Vineyards’ Willow Creek Estate, the event featured a multi-course dinner prepared by Chef Rachel Ponce, paired with wines from Copia Vineyards, The Royal Nonesuch Farm, Ciento Cellars, and Vin13 Wine Bar. Guests gathered in an open-air setting that included donors, community leaders and partners.
“As of June, ECHO has helped 215 individuals and families secure stable housing in 2025,” said Wendy Lewis, chief executive officer of the organization. “This event was more than just an incredible culinary experience — it was a powerful show of compassion and action. Every dollar raised will directly support our work on the front lines of homelessness, helping people regain stability and housing. We are so grateful to our hosts, partners, and every guest who came out in support.”
Vin13 Wine Bar served as the host of the evening. Owner Raymond Fairchild helped organize the collaboration with local winemakers. “I got involved because I believe in the importance of supporting families and building a stronger, more compassionate community,” said Fairchild. “This event is just one way we can come together and make a real impact.”
Participating wineries included Copia Vineyards and Winery, The Royal Nonesuch Farm, Ciento Cellars, and Vin13 Wine Bar. Food and culinary support came from Pair with Chef Rachel, Morro Bay Oyster Co., Shanley Farms, Sinton and Sons, Allen Brothers, and Desserts by Breda. Event partners included Project XO, All About Events, Alpha LIT Central Coast, Glitz and Gather, and Mark Dillon Luna Events. Table sponsors were Refrigeration Unlimited, Patria Wines, and MAHA.
El Camino Homeless Organization was founded in 2001 and operates two shelters, one in Atascadero with 60 beds and another in Paso Robles with 70 beds. The organization also runs a daily community dinner program and provides showers and other supportive services for those in need across San Luis Obispo County.
