Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation awarded $15,300 grant

– The California Arts Council announced its plans to award a $15,300 grant to Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation as part of its Arts Education: Extension program.

As a segment of the California Arts Council Arts Education grant opportunities, Extension grants support arts education programs for PreK-12 students that operate after school and during the summer, on school sites, in artistic venues, and in community settings. The intention of the program is to offer young people sequential, hands-on training in artistic disciplines, including dance, literary arts, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts.

“The California Arts Council has made it a priority to support our budding young artists and performers,” said Emily Jagger, Director of Development. “Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation is honored to be a third-year recipient of the California Arts Council’s Artists in Schools Extension Grant helping fund our FREE Visual & Performing Arts Classes for nearly 400 students (5-18) currently enrolled. This year’s grant of $15,300 is outstanding and we are ready to bring more arts experiences to youth and unleash the magic of our art, drama, music and dance departments! A million thanks to all whose efforts and donations make these programs a reality!”

Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation is one of 169 grantees chosen for the Arts Education: Extension program. The award was featured as part of a larger announcement from the California Arts Council.

“The Arts Education Extension program capitalizes on the potential to create arts learning opportunities for California’s young people whenever and wherever possible,” said Nashormeh Lindo, California Arts Council Chair. “Projects like Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation’s free visual and performing arts program allow for the positive impacts of arts engagement to continue undeterred.”
