Patricia Elaine Gaylord Botts dies at 74

Patricia Elaine Gaylord Botts.

–Patricia “Pat” Elaine (Gaylord) Botts, 74, passed away peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at her home in Taft, CA surrounded by many of her loved ones.

Pat was born in Paso Robles, CA on Sept. 1, 1943 to Melvin and Doris Gaylord, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Paso Robles Union High School in 1961.

In 1963 Pat married William “Bill” Botts who grew up in the same Paso neighborhood as Pat. They renewed their relationship while working together at Ennis Business Forms.

Pat was a long time employee at Crocker Bank and Bank of America in Paso Robles. When Bill’s 20 year career with CTS Corp. in Paso took them to Bentonville, Arkansas, Pat continued working in the banking field. Later, she operated her own house cleaning business in Arkansas and California.

Although Pat and Bill enjoyed living in the mid-west, with their great friends there, beautiful homes and lovely flower gardens she worked so diligently to create, they greatly missed their family and friends in California. In September of 2016 they moved back to California.

Family was extremely important to Pat and she especially enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend and was deeply loved by all who knew her. She will always be remembered for her contagious laughter, radiant smile, and always having a good time.

Pat is survived by her loving husband Bill, of 54+ years, her son Travis Botts (Andrea) of Taft, daughter Tracy Jeffries (Darin) of Taft, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Alan and Gary Gaylord, and sisters, Evelyn Muir, Nancy Hammer and Beverly Steerman.

Pat showed great strength, courage and peaceful acceptance during her 6 month battle with cancer.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Optimal Hospice, 1675 Chester Ave., Ste. 401, Bakersfield, CA 93301. These people were absolutely magnificent in their care of Pat.

There will be a celebration of Pat’s life, on Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at The Westside Believers Fellowship at 101 CA Hwy 33, Taft, CA.
