    Police release names of pedestrian and driver in injury collision 

    Pedestrian suffers major injuries in collision

    Update March 27, 2014: Police released the names of the two people involved in Wednesday morning’s traffic accident. The pedestrian who was injured in this collision is identified as 60-year-old Paso Robles resident Cindy Dougherty. She is in critical condition at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara for treatment of her severe injuries.

    The driver involved in this collision is identified as 44-year-old Paso Robles resident Jeffrey Brooks. Police say the investigation into this incident is ongoing.

    Original story March 26, 2014: On Wednesday morning at about 7:24 a.m. the Paso Robles Police Department and Department of Emergency Services responded to an injury traffic collision in the 300 block of Santa Bella near Commerce Way on the east side of Paso Robles.

    An initial investigation revealed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Santa Bella struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street traveling northbound mid-block, according to police

    The adult female pedestrian suffered major injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. The adult male driver of the involved vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.

    Neither party is being identified by the police at this time. It does not appear that alcohol or drugs were involved in this collision, according to police, however the investigation is ongoing and further information will be forthcoming. Anyone with information regarding the collision is encouraged to call the Paso Robles Police Department.
