Pioneer Day Committee opens entries for parade
Entries include floats, tractors, wagons, bands and civic groups
– The Pioneer Day Committee is accepting entry forms for the 95th Annual Paso Robles Pioneer Day Parade.
Entries include antique tractors, horse-drawn wagons, marching bands, mounted equestrian groups, school and youth groups, church groups, community and civic groups, floats, vintage cars, fire engines and military vehicles.
This year’s float theme is “The 95th Pioneer Playlist.” Float entries are encouraged to represent the theme in their decorations. The best depiction of the theme will win a $500 cash prize.
Entry forms are available online at https://www.pasoroblespioneerday.org/parade.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Oct. 11 in downtown Paso Robles. The route starts at 16th and Spring Street, continues south around Paso Robles City Park and ends at 16th and Pine Street.
Following the parade, activities will include the annual bean feed, whiskerino contest, horseshoe pitching contest and an antique equipment display at the park and Pioneer Museum, which will also feature tractor demonstrations and an old gas engine show.
The Paso Robles Events Center will host Pioneer Day games and the gymkhana, with contests such as hay hurdles, tractor tire races, tractor stake races and antique car potato races.
