Pioneer Museum hosting fundraiser, sneak peek of new display

Volunteers creating scale replica of the Hotel El Paso de RoblesEl paso de robles hotel

–Saturday, Sept. 10 from 4:30 to 7:30 will be a limited-invitation fundraiser to unveil some of the sub-assemblies and construction progress for a new display at the Pioneer Museum – a scale replica of the Hotel El Paso de Robles. Over 1000 hours of volunteer time to painstakingly create the intricate hotel facade have been logged so far. When finished, it will be 20′ tall and 25′ wide.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Local wine, with the first glass provided for free, and appetizers along with tours and dance music by the Del Gomes Trio set the stage for a late afternoon and early evening of fun. A small number of unique silent auction items may be bid on. The biggie-item of the event is a drawing for a day’s use of the Cass Winery’s 1947 chauffeured limo. Four people will start at Cass Winery for tasting and a gourmet lunch and then travel to 4 wineries of their choice. Tickets for the drawing are $30 each; winner need not be present.

A broad list of “Adopt-a-project” focused directly at continuing the infrastructure and displays at Pioneer Museum for purchase is the financial goal for this fundraiser. Specific items range from $50 to $1000. Items include sponsoring a totally new display project, mannequins, display cases, newsletter printing, shop tools, meeting tables, chairs and the list goes on.

To purchase entry tickets or Cass Limo tickets, buy them at the Museum – Thursday through Sunday from 1-4 or call (805) 459-6711. Do the same to make a cash donation or donate an auction item or wine for use at the event. “Adopt-a-projects” may be purchased before the event as well.
