    Pleasant Valley wine trail hosts ‘Holiday on the Trail’

    Nine wineries team up to offer wine, food and holiday gifts

    –The members of the Pleasant Valley Trail will be hosting, “Holiday on the Trail” with food, wine, and holiday gifts offered at each member winery on Dec. 12.

    “If you haven’t yet experienced the wineries of northeast Paso Robles, you’re definitely in for a treat,” said Wally Murray, owner at Bon Niche Cellars. “Saturday is a great day to visit all the boutique wineries of the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail. You’ll experience several 90+ point wines, numerous best of class winners, as well as, food pairings and unique gifts at most locations.”

    From 12-4 p.m. Holiday open house and special tasting. The Murray family will also be featuring special wine discounts for the holidays. Enjoy warm cream soups paired with wines and crisps. Finish off the tasting with a touch of chocolate paired with a red wine.

    From 12-4 p.m. Grapevine wreathmaking workshop plus complimentary tastings. They’ll be pouring several 90+ point red and white wines all day, and if you’re feeling crafty, you can make and take home your own grapevine wreath. All supplies and wreath decorations will be provided. One wreath is complimentary for each wine club member and $10 per guest. They are only open to the public for tastings seven times per year so this is a day to visit without having to make an appointment.

    11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Complimentary food and wine pairing all day, plus live music by Robi Duganne from 1-4 p.m. The resident chef & certified sommelier, Shauna Burke, will be preparing her cranberry, apple, & herb relish recipe that was featured in the November issue of 805 Living magazine. Paired with Four Sisters Methode Champenoise sparkling wines and limited-edition Sauvignon Blanc, the relish will sit atop a crostini with softened local goat’s cheese. They’ll also be featuring case specials all weekend.

    11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Cozy up to the log burning fireplace with a glass of Graveyard wine, meatballs, warm brownies and hear live music on the vintage 1930’s baby grand piano. Ten wines poured today are gold medal and they’ll bring out a couple new releases too.
