Pleasant Valley Wine Trail toy drive supports local families

Fourteen wineries participated in Holiday on the Trail toy drive

    – The Pleasant Valley Wine Trail completed its annual Holiday on the Trail Toy Drive on Dec. 15 in San Miguel, California.

The toy drive was hosted by 14 wineries along the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail. The wineries collected new, unwrapped toys during the first two weeks of December. Collection bins were placed in tasting rooms along the trail.

The San Miguel Firefighters’ Association will distribute the donated toys to children and families in need within the community.

Guests who dropped off toy donations while visiting the wineries were offered perks as a thank-you for participating during the collection period.

“We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support,” said Leon Tackitt, chairman of the nonprofit organization. “This initiative truly reflects the spirit of the holidays and the strong sense of community that surrounds our wine trail. Because of the generosity of our visitors, many children will experience extra joy this season.”

The toy drive is part of the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail’s ongoing efforts related to community involvement and charitable outreach.

The organization thanked community members who donated and helped make the toy drive successful.

According to the organization, the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail operates as a nonprofit alliance of family-owned wineries and farms in the San Miguel area. The group works to promote its 12-mile wine trail, preserve local culture and historic landmarks, and support collaborative events and charitable giving connected to the region’s wine industry.

More information about the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail and upcoming events is available on its website.
