– The Paso Robles Police Officers’ Association has endorsed Steve Gregory for re-election to the Paso Robles City Council, representing District 3. Brett Lowe, the police association’s president, expressed the association’s support for Gregory in a statement. “On behalf of the Paso Robles Police Officers Association, I am pleased to express our endorsement of Steve Gregory’s re-election campaign for the Paso Robles City Council, District 3,” he wrote.
Lowe said the association, which includes more than 40 police officers and dispatchers, has confidence in Gregory’s “leadership and vision for the future of Paso Robles.” Lowe continued, “What sets you apart is not just your ability to perform the duties of the role, but the manner in which you do so. We value a city council that fosters collaboration, mutual respect, and stability in our community. We believe that you possess the temperament, expertise, and commitment necessary to bring stability to the council.”
Gregory has lived in Paso Robles for 44 years and holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He managed Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort for over 20 years before launching a small business consulting firm in Paso Robles. He has also been actively involved in local community initiatives.
Gregory has garnered endorsements from several public officials, including San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson, former Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham, former Senator Sam Blakeslee, and County Supervisors John Peschong, Mike Ryan, and Frank Meacham, the latter also a former Paso Robles mayor. Other endorsements come from Paso Robles Mayor John Hamon, former Mayor Chris Iverson, Atascadero Mayor Heather Moreno, San Luis Obispo County Superintendent of Schools James Brescia, and Diane Ward, president of the San Luis Obispo County School Board.
Gregory was appointed to the Paso Robles City Council in 2014, later winning re-election in 2016 and running unopposed in 2020. He served as mayor pro-tem for four years during his council tenure and is seeking re-election in the 2024 race for District 3.
