Police go undercover to check on ‘spice’ sales
No stores found selling illegal synthetic drugs
In January 2015, the City of Paso Robles enacted a city ordinance banning the sale or possession of psychoactive synthetic drugs such as “spice” and “bath salts.”
On Friday, May 1, detectives conducted undercover compliance checks of local stores formerly known to sell these dangerous substances.
The police reported today that these stores no longer sell these synthetic drugs. Additionally, it was reported that all of the stores acknowledged there was an ordinance prohibiting sales.
The police said that they will continue to monitor establishments to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws regarding regulated substances.
