Police confiscate daggers, drugs, after car chase in Paso Robles

–Patrick Dale Sandeffer, 30, of Atascadero and Raymond Gene Anthony Glove were arrested and police confiscated daggers, methamphetamines and marijuana following a car chase in Paso Robles on Tuesday, reports say.

At about 10 p.m., on Tuesday night, Paso Robles police officers began pursing a “known felony suspect” who was driving a 1994 Toyota Four Runner north on North River Road, according to reports. The officers requested help from tCHP, who reportedly took over the pursuit at Wellsona Road.

A spike strip deflated one tire on the suspect’s car, and they continued to evade police as they traveled onto Highway 46 East and then onto Union Road. Speeds during the chase reached 75 mph, reports say.

The suspect reportedly intentionally rammed a CHP vehicle before turning onto Tuley Road, reaching a dead end and stopping. The driver and his dog then got out of the car and tried to flee on foot, but were apprehended by CHP officers, the CHP said.

The driver, Patrick Dale Sandeffer, 30, of Atascadero, was arrested and taken to the San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, assault with a deadly weapon, having concealed weapons, evading a peace officer and an outstanding warrant, the CHP said. He is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.

His passenger, Raymond Gene Anthony Glove, remained in the car and was arrested on suspicion of drug charges and outstanding warrants, the CHP said.

Police reportedly seized methamphetamines, daggers and marijuana from the car.
