Police evacuate apartment complex, arrest man in gun threat case
– Paso Robles Police arrested a 31-year-old man on Sunday in connection with an alleged assault with a firearm reported earlier this week.
Officers from the Paso Robles Police Department responded at approximately 9:55 p.m. on March 5 to the 3300 block of Spring Street regarding a report of a male suspect pointing a handgun at another man’s head while telling the victim he “was going to die.”
According to police, the victim escaped from the suspect and was not injured. The suspect fled north from the area and was not located at the time.
Detectives continued the investigation and identified the suspect as Irvin Hernandez, 31. Detectives located Hernandez’s whereabouts and obtained both an arrest warrant and a search warrant for the apartment where he was staying.
At approximately 3 p.m. on March 8, members of the San Luis Obispo Regional Special Weapons and Tactics Team assisted in serving the search warrant at Hernandez’s apartment in the 3400 block of Spring Street.
Authorities evacuated a portion of the apartment complex for safety reasons, and Hernandez was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.
