Police investigate alleged filming incident in Paso Robles park

Police reportedly advising the city to construct some type of barrier

    – Police are investigating a recent incident in which a man allegedly pointed a phone camera into a bathroom stall at Paso Robles City Park, according to a recent report by the San Luis Obispo Tribune. The incident occurred Thursday and was later shared on Facebook in the SLO County News group by user Elissa Murray.

“Hey PSA here for everyone! I’m in Paso Robles City park enjoying the lights and decided to use the restroom. A man in the stall next to me placed his phone on the barrier camera facing into my stall as you can see,” Elissa Murray wrote in the post.

“Immediately snapped this photo and called Paso PD to report it,” she continued. “I waited a ways away so I could get a good description. They’re searching for him now. Please be aware at all times of your surroundings! Especially in a public park with your children. I don’t know what made me look up in time but I’m glad I did!”

Police were unable to locate the suspect the day of the report. His age and ethnicity are unknown. “Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of information as the suspect had fled prior to our arrival,” Commander Ricky Lehr told The Tribune on Tuesday. Lehr said no similar incidents have been reported. “We are advising the city to construct some type of barrier, so this does not occur again,” he said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Paso Robles Police Department’s non-emergency line at (805) 237-6464.
