Police respond to report of masked individual at school
School staff initiated lockdown procedures while officers responded
– At 12:13 p.m. today, the Atascadero Police Department responded to a report from Monterey Road Elementary School about a possible individual wearing a mask seen on campus.
School staff initiated lockdown procedures while officers responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers established a secure perimeter around the campus and conducted a search of the area.
Students and staff remained secured during the response. Officers conducted a sweep of the campus, but no individual matching the reported description was located.
At 12:47 p.m., the campus was cleared and the lockdown was lifted. Officers are continuing follow-up interviews as part of standard protocol.
No injuries were reported.
