Police seek help identifying burglars

Video shows footage of men making purchases with stolen credit cards

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects who are accused of burglarizing a car in Avila Beach, stealing credit cards, and then using those credit cards to purchase items worth thousands of dollars at several stores in the Pismo Beach Outlets and surrounding area.

The car burglary happened on April 24 at the Bob Jones trailhead in Avila Beach. The victims say their locked car was broken into between 1 and 2:30 p.m. and three credit cards were stolen from the purse of one of the victims. Those cards were used later that day at several stores in the Pismo Beach Outlets and surrounding area with losses totaling in excess of $3,000.

Surveillance video from the stores show two Hispanic men of average height and medium build making purchases with the stolen credit cards. If anyone can identify these two suspects, please contact the Sheriff’s Office Coast Station at (805) 528-6083.
