Pops-by-the-Sea event returns with ‘Woodstock on the West Coast’

–The San Luis Obispo Symphony announces the return of Pops-by-the-Sea on Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Avila Beach Golf Resort. The symphony, under the direction of conductor Andrew Sewell, will pay tribute to the historic Woodstock weekend that musically shaped a generation a half-century ago.

To capture the essence of this iconic event, the symphony will join forces with concert presenter Jeans ‘n Classics to perform the unforgettable music of: Crosby, Still & Nash, The Who, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, The Band, Jefferson Airplane, and more.

For nearly 25 years, the San Luis Obispo Symphony’s family-friendly Pops-by-the-Sea concerts have entertained thousands of music lovers on the Central Coast. This year’s event honors that tradition and offers the community an afternoon by the sea of sun, fun, and great music.

Tickets go on sale June 1, 2019 at Lawn tickets and VIP seating will be available.
