Pour House hosting double bill country concert

San Diego’s Sara Petite and LA’s John Surge.
Concert kicks off at 7 p.m. on June 13
– Two Americana country bands are set to perform in Paso Robles. The “Boots and Brews” show will feature San Diego’s Sara Petite and LA’s John Surge in a double bill at the Pour House on June 13, starting at 7 p.m.
Sara Petite, recently named “Best Country/Americana Artist” by the San Diego Music Awards, has toured extensively from San Diego to the UK. She has released seven albums, with the latest titled “The Empress” on Forty Below Records, produced by Eric Corne. Petite has opened for acts such as Todd Snider, Lucinda Williams, The Beat Farmers, Marty Stuart, and Rhett Miller. Glide Magazine noted, “She can sound as feisty as Loretta Lynn and Wanda Jackson, and she is just as good at portraying heartache as Patsy Cline.”
John Surge and the Haymakers, known for their red-hot live shows and California country sound, will join Petite. Their music blends classic country, rock ’n’ roll, blues, and folk. Their latest release on Blackbird Records, produced by Tommy Detamore in Texas, reached No. 32 on the Americana Music Association chart. Lonesome Highway magazine commented, “With ‘Almost Time,’ Surge has made an album that fits like a pair of well-worn jeans and feels the right side of retro country but also has an eye to the future and perfects his own personal vision of the music that came from the likes of the Palomino Club in its heyday in L.A.”
The event will take place at the Pour House, located at 525 Pine Street, in Paso Robles. Tickets are priced at $5. For more information, visit sarapetite.com and johnsurge.com, or contact john@johnsurge.com, (562) 533-8238. The Pour House can be reached at (805) 296-3712.
