PR Library Foundation gifted donation before National Library Week
City Council recognizes Paso Robles City Library and community contributions
– The Paso Robles Library Foundation will observe National Library Week, April 19-25, highlighting libraries’ role in communities, literacy, and access to learning.
The Paso Robles City Library and the Paso Robles Library Foundation were recently acknowledged at a Paso Robles City Council meeting, recognizing the library as a community resource and gathering place.
During the meeting, $3,500 in community contributions was presented to the City to support local literacy and education efforts. Of that total, $2,000 was donated in honor of the Steve Martin Literacy Foundation and designated for the Paso Robles Library Foundation to support library programs, materials, and initiatives, including Summer Reading and 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. An additional $1,500 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Atascadero has been dedicated to supporting local high school students through the development of a scholarship, with details currently being finalized.
“National Library Week is an opportunity to celebrate not just the library itself, but the people, programs, and partnerships that make it such a special place in our community,” said Alicia DiGrazia, president of the Paso Robles Library Foundation. “We encourage everyone to visit the library, explore what it has to offer, and consider getting involved, whether that’s through volunteering, attending programs, or even joining our board. Community support is what allows us to continue growing and meeting the needs of Paso Robles.”
Throughout the year, the Paso Robles Library Foundation works with the City Library to support services, fund improvements, and expand programming opportunities. The foundation supports youth literacy initiatives, adult education, and community events.
National Library Week highlights libraries as centers for connection, education, and opportunity. The Paso Robles Library Foundation invites community members to visit the library, sign up for a library card, attend programs, and learn about ways to support the library.
